Grok

Connect it

Checked against the vendor documentation, not written from memory.

  1. 1

Open Round Funded, go to Account, MCP and create a key. Copy it now, it is shown once.

  2. 2

Run the command below with your key in place of the placeholder.

  3. 3

Start Grok. Round Funded is available in every project by default.

Configuration

grok mcp add --transport http roundfunded https://www.roundfunded.com/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer PASTE_YOUR_KEY_HERE"

Replace the placeholder with your own key. Anything still saying PASTE_YOUR_KEY_HERE will fail to authenticate.

What your agent can actually see

Connecting Round Funded does not hand an AI assistant your inbox or your card. Here is the exact line.

It can read

  • The investor database78,000 verified angels, VC firms, accelerators and incubators.
  • Your pipelineWhich investor sits in which stage, and the notes you wrote.
  • Your outreach boardWhat is drafted, queued, sent and replied.
  • Your Data RoomThe profile an investor sees when you share your link.
  • Your account statusPlan, credits left, connected inboxes.

It can write

  • Move pipeline cardsBetween stages, with a note.
  • Update your Data RoomKeep the profile current.
  • Draft outreachWritten and queued for your review.
  • Reveal a contactThe only action that spends a credit.

It can never

  • Send an emailIt stages the draft. You press send.
  • Read your inboxSend-only Gmail access. The server has none.
  • See another founderA key is bound to one workspace.
  • Change your billingIt cannot upgrade you or move money.

What it costs to run

Searching is free and unmetered. Only revealing a contact spends anything, and only the first time you reveal that investor.

PlanContacts per 30 daysPer dayRequests
Round+100010020 per 60s
Round Pro300030060 per 60s
Lifetime500030060 per 60s

MCP needs an active paid plan. It is not part of the trial, and the contact allowance cannot be topped up separately.

Questions before you connect

Can it send emails to investors for me?

No, and this is deliberate. The agent can draft outreach and queue it. Delivery needs a person. An AI mistake in an investor inbox cannot be undone, so the send button stays with you.

Does searching cost me anything?

No. Search, filters, pipeline and Data Room reads are unmetered. The only metered action is revealing an investor contact, and repeat reveals of the same investor are free.

Is my key safe to paste into a config file?

It is scoped to one workspace and works at the Round Funded MCP endpoint only. It cannot read your inbox, reach another founder or change your billing. If a config file leaks, revoke the key in Account, MCP and it is dead immediately.

Does this need a scope flag?

No. Grok writes to your user configuration by default, which is what you want for a SaaS connection. Narrowing to one project is the opt in, not the default.

Is the flag order the same as other CLIs?

Close, but do not assume it. Each CLI orders its arguments differently, so copy the command from this page rather than adapting one you used elsewhere.
