MCP needs an active paid plan. It is not part of the trial, and the contact allowance cannot be topped up separately.

Any client that speaks MCP over HTTP works. Most of them take this exact shape. If yours wants the pieces separately, the URL is the endpoint above and the header is Authorization with your key after the word Bearer.

Questions founders ask first
What is MCP?
Model Context Protocol is an open standard for connecting an AI assistant to a live tool. Instead of pasting investor names into a chat, you connect Round Funded once and the assistant queries the real database itself.
Can the AI send emails to investors on my behalf?
No. The agent can write a draft and put it in your outreach queue, and that is where it stops. Delivery needs a human. We built it that way on purpose: a mistake in an investor inbox is not recoverable.
Does it work with ChatGPT?
Not yet. ChatGPT connectors require a sign in based connection we have not shipped. Claude, Claude Code and Cursor all work today, along with VS Code, Grok, OpenClaw and Hermes.
What does it cost me to search?
Nothing. Search, filters, pipeline reads and outreach drafting are unmetered. Only revealing an investor contact spends a credit, and only the first time you reveal that particular investor.
Is my data safe?
Your key is scoped to one workspace and is valid at the Round Funded MCP endpoint and nowhere else. It cannot read your inbox, cannot see another founder, and cannot change your billing. Revoke it in Account, MCP and it dies immediately.
Do I need to be on a paid plan?
Yes. MCP is available on Round+, Round Pro and Lifetime. It is not included in the trial.
