How Much Does DocSend Cost in 2026?
DocSend, a Dropbox company, costs $10 to $180 a month billed yearly and $15 to $300 billed monthly, per Adlega's October 12, 2026 check of its pricing page. Revspire's October 20 check puts the top self-serve plan, Advanced Data Rooms, at $180 a month billed yearly; the cheapest tiers are less settled. Round Funded's Data Room is free to build and share on every plan.
DocSend stands out on analytics and access control. A raise also needs investors to send the deck to.

What DocSend Is and How It Works
DocSend was founded in 2013 by Russ Heddleston, Dave Koslow and Tony Cassanego, after years of sending emails and decks "into a black hole." Dropbox agreed to buy it for $165 million in March 2021, and DocSend now describes itself as part of Dropbox.
You share a document through a link and choose who can open it, using a passcode, email verification or a list of approved viewers and domains. Tracking gives page-by-page analytics: top performing pages, average completion percentage and document version performance.
For more than one file, DocSend offers Spaces, a virtual data room behind a single link. Its Advanced Data Rooms help page says owners and collaborators can view analytics for every file in a Space, and that the plan allows up to 4,000 files per Space, twice what Advanced allows.
In February 2026 DocSend added built-in due diligence tracking to its data rooms for M&A. On October 7, 2026 it announced a Perplexity Computer connector, powered by its remote MCP server, that lets mutual customers bring decks, data rooms and engagement analytics into AI workflows.
DocSend Pricing in 2026
DocSend's help center (updated March 2026) lists four plans (Personal, Standard, Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms) plus Enterprise, which is quoted by sales. Billing is monthly or annual, and Adlega notes that yearly billing saves up to 40%. DocSend's pricing page showed no figures in our research, so every price below is a third-party reading.
| Plan | Billed yearly | Billed monthly | Users | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Personal | $10 per user a month | $15 per user a month | 1 | Document-level analytics, 4 eSignatures a month (Pitchroom); dataroom-providers.org says it was removed |
| Standard | Not confirmed | Not confirmed | Per user | dataroom-providers.org lists $43 per user a month; Revspire saw two different prices on October 20 |
| Advanced | $150 a month | $250 a month | 3 included | Flat price (Revspire) |
| Advanced Data Rooms | $180 a month | $300 a month | 3 included | Up to 4,000 files per Space (Revspire) |
| Enterprise | Quote | Quote | Larger teams | Through DocSend sales |
Revspire (October 20, 2026) is the source for the Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms prices, and dataroom-providers.org (September 29) lists the same monthly figures. Per Adlega, extra users on those two plans cost $60 a month on yearly billing and $90 on monthly billing.
What a raise costs in practice: Pitchroom estimates three founders on Standard for six months at $810 to $1,170, or $900 to $1,500 with a data room. Compare that with your own setup in the data room cost calculator.
What DocSend Does Well
- Analytics depth. Page-by-page tracking, completion percentage and version performance are DocSend's core. G2's review summary (page dated October 2025) lists visibility and tracking among the top strengths (35 mentions), and a Capterra reviewer in May 2026 says it shows engagement "better than just attaching a PDF to an email."
- Access control. Beyond passcodes and approved-viewer lists, one G2 reviewer calls viewer-specific dynamic watermarking one of the best features for compliance-heavy environments.
- Ease of use. The most cited positive in that G2 summary (42 mentions); the page showed 4.6 out of 5 from 588 reviews.
- Maturity and compliance. Founded in 2013, part of Dropbox, with SOC, CCPA, GDPR and PCI DSS logos on its pricing page.
Where DocSend Falls Short
Price is the most-mentioned complaint: G2's summary says users find DocSend expensive, especially with multiple clients and user seats (11 mentions). A Capterra reviewer in April 2026 wrote that features feel limited unless you upgrade and that pricing can be high for smaller teams.
G2's summary also lists app complaints (8 mentions): slow loading, mobile optimization and limited file type support. Another G2 reviewer wants more progress on AI, noting DocSend "stands out more for document security, access control, and analytics than for intelligent automation."
Peony's founder, a competitor, claims in an undated Reddit post that DocSend compresses uploaded PDFs into images.
The gap for founders: the DocSend pages we reviewed describe sharing and tracking a deck, not finding the investors to send it to.
DocSend vs Round Funded
| DocSend | Round Funded | |
|---|---|---|
| Main job | Share documents and track engagement | Find investors, reach them, track the raise |
| Pricing (October 2026) | $10 to $300 a month by plan and billing (third-party checks) | Round+ $99/month, Round Pro $249/month, Lifetime $899 one-time |
| Trial | 14 days of Advanced Data Rooms, no card | 3 days on Round+ and Round Pro for first-time accounts, card required |
| Data room | Spaces, up to 4,000 files each on Advanced Data Rooms | Free to build and share on every plan |
| Per-viewer analytics | Page-by-page, completion, versions | Per-investor tracked links and analytics on Round+ and above |
| Investor database | Not found in the pages we reviewed | 60,000+ active VCs, angels, family offices and accelerators with a check in the last 6 months |
| Outreach and pipeline | Not found in the pages we reviewed | AI-drafted emails sent from your own Gmail, plus a built-in pipeline (CRM) |
| AI agents | Remote MCP server (Perplexity Computer) | MCP server on paid plans (Claude, Cursor and others) |
DocSend wins when documents are the whole job: M&A diligence, sales content, investor relations after the round, or any process where watermarks and viewer allowlists matter more than reach. It also has the friendlier trial: 14 days with no credit card, against 3 days with a card on Round Funded.
Round Funded wins when the problem is the raise itself: you build the Data Room on any plan, pull investors from a filtered database, send from your Gmail and track each one in a pipeline. See Round Funded pricing for plan limits.

Who Should Use DocSend
- Use DocSend if you run diligence, sales enablement or investor relations and need watermarks and viewer allowlists.
- Skip the data room tiers if the deck plus a few documents is the whole room: at $180 a month billed yearly, Advanced Data Rooms is hard to justify.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does DocSend cost?
DocSend costs $10 to $180 a month billed yearly and $15 to $300 billed monthly, per Adlega's October 12, 2026 check. Revspire (October 20) lists Advanced at $150 a month yearly and Advanced Data Rooms at $180, each with three users. Personal and Standard are priced per user, and sources disagree on them. Enterprise is quoted by sales.
Is DocSend free?
Only partly. New accounts get a 14-day trial of Advanced Data Rooms with no credit card, capped at 500 uploaded documents. After you cancel a paid plan, DocSend's help center says the account switches to a free Limited Trial plan. Round Funded's Data Room is free to build and share on every plan.
Is DocSend worth it for a seed round?
It depends on what you share. DocSend's analytics are strong, but if your room is a deck and a few files, Advanced Data Rooms at $180 a month billed yearly is a lot for that. If finding investors is the harder part, start with Investor Match.
Is DocSend legit and safe?
DocSend is an established product: it was founded in 2013, Dropbox agreed to buy it in March 2021, and its site says it is part of Dropbox. Its pricing page shows SOC, CCPA, GDPR and PCI DSS compliance logos, with certification documents in a Trust Center; those are DocSend's own claims and we have not audited them.
Papermark vs DocSend: which is better?
DocSend is the mature option, with page-by-page analytics and access controls. Papermark, per Peony's founder (a competitor), follows the DocSend formula with a cleaner interface. Pick DocSend for compliance-heavy work, and look at Papermark if you want something familiar and cleaner.
Is Round Funded affiliated with DocSend?
No. Round Funded is not affiliated with DocSend or Dropbox. This is an independent comparison built from DocSend's public pages and published third-party sources, with pricing as of October 2026.
Final Word
DocSend is a mature tool for sharing documents and seeing who read them, and G2 reviewers rate it highly. For founders raising a round, who receives the deck matters more. Build your Data Room on any Round Funded plan and send it to investors who wrote a check in the last six months.
