Open Round Funded, go to Account, MCP and create a key. Copy it now, it is shown once.

Run the command below, swapping the placeholder for your key.

Start Claude Code and run /mcp. You should see roundfunded connected.

Replace the placeholder with your own key. Anything still saying PASTE_YOUR_KEY_HERE will fail to authenticate.

What it costs to run
Searching is free and unmetered. Only revealing a contact spends anything, and only the first time you reveal that investor.

MCP needs an active paid plan. It is not part of the trial, and the contact allowance cannot be topped up separately.
Questions before you connect
Can it send emails to investors for me?
No, and this is deliberate. The agent can draft outreach and queue it. Delivery needs a person. An AI mistake in an investor inbox cannot be undone, so the send button stays with you.
Does searching cost me anything?
No. Search, filters, pipeline and Data Room reads are unmetered. The only metered action is revealing an investor contact, and repeat reveals of the same investor are free.
Is my key safe to paste into a config file?
It is scoped to one workspace and works at the Round Funded MCP endpoint only. It cannot read your inbox, reach another founder or change your billing. If a config file leaks, revoke the key in Account, MCP and it is dead immediately.
Why does the command use scope user?
It makes Round Funded available in every project instead of only the folder you happen to be in. The Claude Code default is this project only, which is rarely what you want for a SaaS connection.
Where does the key end up?
In your Claude Code configuration on your own machine. Treat it like any other credential, and revoke it in Account, MCP if you think it leaked.
