Is Angel Investment Network Legit, and Is It Worth Paying For?

Angel Investment Network (AIN) is a pitch-listing site that says it was founded in 2004: you publish a pitch, angels browse it, and either side can message the other. Joining is free; Angels Partners, a third-party review page, reports a free 30-day listing, then paid packages of roughly £149 to £2,499. To pick and email angels yourself, Round Funded is the outbound alternative.

Short verdict: AIN says it has run since 2004, but reviews are sharply split (2.0 out of 5 on Trustpilot's UK profile), pricing in the pages we reviewed comes only from third parties, and the renewal terms deserve a close read. If you meant angel groups in general, see the angel network lists by country.

What Angel Investment Network Is and How It Works

A founder builds a pitch from AIN's template and publishes it. Investors filter pitches by country, location, industry, stage, investment range and language, track shortlists and connection requests, and talk in AIN's own messaging platform. AIN's pages say "Submit a pitch and we'll help you find an investor", and the founder menu lists an "Investor Search" page that we did not review, so the model may not be purely wait-for-investors.

AIN's own figures shift by page and are not independently checked: 394,378 investors across 30 branches in 80 countries on the UK About page, 397,845 across 40 networks in 90 countries on the US one, and over £200 million raised (UK site) versus over $300 million (US site).

Angel Investment Network Pricing in 2026

AIN's footer links an "Our Rates" page that we did not review, so every price below is a third-party report, not a published rate.

  • Joining and listing: joining is free, per AIN's own pages. Per Angels Partners (pulled September 2026), a free 30-day listing is followed by pay-to-pitch packages from around £149 for 90 days up to about £2,499.
  • Monthly billing: one Trustpilot reviewer cited £179 per month, calling it "very expensive".
  • Extras: a testimonial on AIN's site mentions paying extra to be "Featured" and using "nudges" to engage investors.

In a Trustpilot reply, AIN said that if a pitch gets no genuine interest in its first subscription period, it will help rewrite the pitch and list it for another 30 days free, provided you email at least 5 days before the renewal date, because the subscription renews automatically. AIN added that the 5-day rule exists so it can process an extension or refund before the next payment is taken. Put that date in your calendar the day you pay.

What Angel Investment Network Does Well

  • Low cost to start, and inbound interest. Joining is free and Angels Partners reports a free 30-day listing, while Round Funded has no free tier. A testimonial on AIN's site says investors "reached out" to the founder, so a listing can work in the background.
  • Open to many sectors. AIN says it connects investors with "startups and businesses from all sectors", and one testimonial describes raising for real estate land deals. Round Funded's database, by contrast, is built around VCs, angels, family offices and accelerators.
  • Long track record. AIN says it began in 2004, LinkedIn lists 110 employees, and one headline on AIN's blog reports Spoon Cereals securing £250,000 through AIN as part of a £1.45m round (AIN's own claim).
  • Wins in the reviews. 52% of Trustpilot reviews on the UK profile are five-star, and one reviewer, who used AIN "a long time ago", says an angel found there has since invested about £0.5m across two businesses, starting with €30,000.

Where Angel Investment Network Falls Short

  • Split reviews. The UK domain's Trustpilot profile shows 2.0 out of 5 from 249 reviews (fetched in 2026), 33% of them one-star. Trustpilot notes the company has not invited reviews recently and lists 6 in the last 12 months, so the sample may not be representative. Angels Partners lists "Paid, then nothing happened" among the recurring complaints.
  • Investor quality varies. A three-year user, who says they have had interest but "haven't yet yielded from it", called AIN "a legitimate site" with mostly real investors, but also "a magnet for catfish" with some dormant accounts, and credited it with "good due dil". Another reviewer reported spam and questionable "investor" messages within hours of creating a profile.
  • Billing friction. At least two reviewers object to the 5-day notice rule and one cites recurring charges without reminders; another said what counts as "interest" is "very vague".
  • Due diligence is on you. Waveup's blog (our source copy is dated July 2024) calls AIN a listings-based marketplace rather than a regulated fundraising platform, with self-certified investors and screening, compliance and legal work left to the founder.

Round Funded comes out ahead when you want to choose the investors yourself: pick from investors with a check in the last 6 months, send AI-drafted emails from your own inbox, and keep every investor in one CRM pipeline. Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Angel Investment Network cost?

Joining is free, but publishing a pitch to investors runs on a paid subscription. Angels Partners reports a free 30-day listing, then packages from about £149 for 90 days up to about £2,499, and one Trustpilot reviewer cited £179 per month. We did not review AIN's own "Our Rates" page, so check the price at checkout and note the auto-renewal date.

Does Angel Investment Network have a free plan or trial?

Signing up is free, and Angels Partners reports a free 30-day listing for founders, then paid packages. Round Funded has no free tier, but offers a 3-day free trial on Round+ and Round Pro (first-time accounts, card required) and free tools such as Investor Match.

Is Angel Investment Network legit or worth it?

Reviewers disagree sharply, so this page reports what the sources show rather than a verdict. AIN says it began in 2004 and its blog was still posting in 2026. Its UK Trustpilot profile shows 2.0 out of 5, with 52% five-star and 33% one-star reviews. One reviewer credits it with an angel who later invested about £0.5m; others report little response, spam, and billing and refund friction. We found no published success rate in the pages we reviewed.

Is Angel Investment Network a UK company?

We could not confirm its legal entity from the pages we reviewed. Angels Partners places its headquarters in London, the UK site is angelinvestmentnetwork.co.uk, and AIN also runs US and Swiss sites.

Can I get a refund from Angel Investment Network?

AIN's footer links a Refunds page that we did not review, so the terms we can quote come from AIN's own Trustpilot replies. If a pitch gets no genuine interest in the first subscription period, AIN says it will help rewrite and relist it for another 30 days free, and you must email at least 5 days before the renewal date; it also mentions processing an "extension/refund" request. At least two reviewers object to the 5-day rule.

Is Angel Investment Network the same as an angel investor network?

Not exactly. Angel Investment Network is one company: it calls itself "the world's largest angel investor network" and runs a pitch-listing site. "Angel network" also describes groups of angels that invest together, such as Golden Seeds, where founders apply for funding. For those groups, read how to find angel investors in 2026.

Is Round Funded affiliated with Angel Investment Network?

No. Round Funded is not affiliated with Angel Investment Network and has no partnership with it. This page is an independent comparison built from AIN's public pages (source copies dated May 2026 where dated) and third-party sources such as Angels Partners (pulled September 2026), Waveup and Trustpilot. Round Funded plan details are as of October 2026.
