What SeedLegals Is and How It Works
SeedLegals calls itself "the one-stop platform for the legals you need to get funded and grow your business." In practice, you answer questions inside the app and it produces the documents for a funding round, a SeedFAST, a SAFE in the US, or an EMI or Unapproved option scheme. It also keeps your cap table, with unlimited shareholders on Access.
The company behind it is SEEDLEGALS LTD, an active private limited company registered with Companies House on 11 September 2016. Capterra lists Anthony Rose and Laurent Laffy as the founders. US customers contract with SeedLegals Inc., registered in Dover. SeedLegals states plainly that it "is not a law firm and does not provide any legal or tax advice."
SeedLegals Pricing in 2026
Per SeedLegals' plans page, the UK lineup has three tiers:
- Access: £79 + VAT a month or £649 + VAT a year.
- Funding: £1,199 + VAT a year. It includes free SEIS/EIS Advance Assurance or Compliance.
- Options: £2,699 + VAT a year. It covers EMI and Unapproved option schemes.
SeedLegals says an annual plan saves over 30% compared with paying month to month. Funding products such as SeedFASTs, rounds and top-ups run on Flex, which the company calls "our pricing model for agile fundraising." The older Plus plan has been retired.
Per SeedLegals' US pricing page, Standard is $99 a month or $999 a year billed annually. It covers common startup contracts, SAFEs and a cap table with unlimited stockholders. US Options is $2,499 a year. A priced round of up to $1M is listed at $3,999, with $999 to unlock and the rest paid on completion.
Legal advice costs extra. SuLe, a competitor, reports that SeedLegals sells it through a General Counsel service from £3,199 + VAT for 10 hours.
What SeedLegals Is Built For, and Its Limits
What SeedLegals is built for
SeedLegals produces the paperwork around equity: round documents, SeedFASTs and SAFEs, option schemes, and SEIS/EIS Advance Assurance for UK companies. Plans also include a pitch page and a data room. Its Pitch feature sends a pitch to investors you already have, with one click, and tracks views and interest. The company says support is free and unlimited by chat, email or call.
Where it falls short
- Layered costs. MakerStack notes there is "no permanent free plan" and that pricing "layers a subscription on top of per-deal fees."
- Geography. MakerStack calls the product "heavily UK/Ireland-focused" and a "weaker fit for US or other jurisdictions."
- Usability. Capterra's review summary says some users find "menus, hidden actions, and occasional bugs confusing," and some want "clearer checklists, better reminders, and fewer blockers."
- Renewals. One founder on Reddit's r/startups says they were moved onto an annual plan after free months and charged £600, after missing the one warning email, which did not mention the price.
- No investor list. We found no investor database in the pages we reviewed.

Is SeedLegals legit and worth it?

No. This page is an independent comparison built from SeedLegals' public pages and published third-party sources, with facts as of October 2026.
