Net Dollar Retention (NDR)
Definición
NDR measures the revenue change from an existing customer base over a period, including expansion and contraction but excluding revenue from new customers, expressed as a percentage of the starting revenue.
Cómo aparece en el fundraising
SaaS companies report NDR alongside or instead of net revenue retention; above 100 percent means existing customers alone grow the business even before any new sales.
Preguntas frecuentes
Is net dollar retention the same as net revenue retention?
They measure the same underlying idea and are frequently used interchangeably, though some companies define them with slightly different inclusions, so always check how a specific figure was calculated.
What is considered a strong NDR?
Above 100 percent is healthy, 110 to 120 percent is strong for enterprise SaaS, and figures above 130 percent are typically driven by usage-based or seat-expansion pricing.
