What WANTD does

WANTD is a D2C consumer marketplace for fashion and footwear brands to launch and sell product. We do the things Shopify is unable to do; we provide multiple channels to sell (e.g. live commerce, marketplace, auctions), influencer networks, and order fulfillment in a mobile-first experience. We solve the cold-start problem for brands and enable them to remain focused on product creation.

We built a mobile-first direct to consumer marketplace tailored for fashion and footwear brands. It combines multiple sales channels like live commerce, marketplaces, and auctions with integrated influencer networks and order fulfillment. This setup helps brands jump-start sales and focus on product creation instead of marketing and logistics, which existing platforms don't provide.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live and work in Los Angeles, CA and remotely. After YC, the company will remain based in Los Angeles and continue supporting remote work.

Explain your decision regarding location.

Los Angeles is a major fashion hub and matches our focus on apparel and cosmetics brands. Being local helps us connect with our customers and influencers more directly. Remote work lets us grow the team flexibly.
