What Webiny does

When the public cloud appeared migration was easy. Existing apps running on physical servers could just be moved to virtual machines running in the cloud. The cloud is now moving towards serverless, and serverless is not backward compatible. New tools need to be created and existing apps need to be rewritten. Webiny provides developers with everything they need to build those serverless apps. We are a 100% remote team.

Open-source framework for serverless apps

What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We build Webiny, an open-source framework that helps developers build serverless applications from the ground up. Serverless apps can't just be moved like traditional cloud apps, so we provide the tools and abstractions to make developing, testing, and deploying these apps practical. This includes serverless CMS, APIs, and the building blocks engineers need to write new serverless apps efficiently.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live in London, England, United Kingdom, but our team is 100% remote and distributed. After YC, we plan to stay remote with no central office location.

Explain your decision regarding location.

We chose to stay remote because our team works well that way and serverless development is distributed globally. Remote lets us access diverse talent and move faster without office overhead.
