What SnapCalorie does

SnapCalorie is the world’s first app where you can take a photo of ANY meal and get an accurate calorie count. It takes seconds to use and is more accurate than a trained nutritionist. The team previously co-founded Google Lens, Cloud Vision API, and published a CVPR paper demonstrating the first algorithm to outperform a professional nutritionist at calorie counting.

What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We built an app where you take a photo of any meal and immediately get its calorie count. It's faster and more accurate than a trained nutritionist. Our technology is based on computer vision and AI models we developed and published, which analyze food visually to estimate nutrition.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live and work primarily in New York, NY and Washington, DC, and the company would remain based in these locations after YC.

Explain your decision regarding location.

We're split between New York and DC because that's where we live and work now. Both cities have the talent and infrastructure we need. Staying here lets us focus on building the product instead of relocating.
