What Savvy does

Savvy is a health benefits product offering employees payment cards to buy their own health insurance. One of the first to market after new regulation, Savvy scaled to $10s of millions in volume and expanded into all 50 state health insurance markets. Savvy was backed by Y Combinator, Marc Andreessen, and the founders of One Medical and Indeed. In 2022, the company was acquired by Take Command, the leading incumbent in the health insurance HRA space.

We built a health benefits product that issues employees payment cards to buy their own health insurance directly. This lets companies offer flexible stipends for health coverage instead of one-size-fits-all plans. It simplifies administration and expands choices for employees across all 50 states.

We are based in San Francisco, CA. After YC, we would continue operating from there.

San Francisco is the hub for tech and insurance innovation. Being close to insurers, regulators, and a strong talent pool is essential to build and scale our complex health benefits platform.
