What Kamion does

Turkey is MENA’s largest economy, with ~850,000 independent truckers and a logistics market of 73 Billion USD. However, in its current state, freight forwarding for trucking relies on many phone calls, emails, and f2f conversations. Trucking is also fragmented, with SME fleets having ~95% market share. Kamion is the Uber for Trucks for Turkey. We connect businesses that are looking for trucks, with trucks that are looking for loads. We also utilize technology to do more with fewer people and collect data.

What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We built a marketplace that connects businesses looking for trucks with independent truckers in Turkey. Our product replaces slow, fragmented phone and email-based freight forwarding with a digital platform that matches loads to trucks and tracks shipments. We focus on Turkish SMEs who currently manage trucking logistics mainly offline.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live and work in Istanbul, Turkey. The company is based in Istanbul and would continue to be based here after YC.

Explain your decision regarding location.

Turkey is our core market, and Istanbul is the logistics hub with the densest truck activity and largest demand. Being here means close access to our main customers - SMEs and independent truckers - and direct insight into how their logistics actually work.
