What Butter Systems does

Butter Systems lets customers at restaurants order food/drink on demand at the table, using a dedicated tablet or their own mobile device. The product spurs more impulse orders and enables every transaction to happen, whether the server is available or not. What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We built a product that replaces paper menus in restaurants with a tablet-based or mobile device interface. Customers browse the menu, order food and drinks on demand, and pay from the table without waiting for a server. It helps restaurants increase impulse orders and speed up table turns.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live in San Francisco, CA and plan to base the company here after YC as well.

Explain your decision regarding location.

San Francisco has a concentration of tech talent and is close to many potential restaurant partners for feedback and testing. We want to stay immersed in the startup community here.
