What Ixiplay does
IXI-Play is building a smart, Android-based robot for young children. They can play games with it; they’ll show the robot cards and it will mimic emotions on them. It sees, hears, speaks and moves. The toy itself retails for $299 but it will also come with an app store and other accessories. It’s a hardware platform that can have customizable skins for different characters so it can either build its own IP or license out IP from other toy companies.

Android-based expressive robot for kids
We're building IXI-Play, an Android-based robot for young children that sees, hears, speaks, and moves. Kids play games with it by showing cards the robot recognizes to mimic emotions. It has customizable skins and an app store to expand functionality, making it a platform for both original and licensed characters.
We live and work in Sunnyvale, CA, and plan to keep the company based here after YC to stay close to the tech ecosystem and hardware suppliers.
Sunnyvale is where we live and work now, and it has the resources for hardware development and prototyping we need. Being here lets us move fast on the robot's physical and software design.
