What Artemis Search does

Artemis Search is a vector database search with a twist. We use special-purpose deep-learning models instead of using textual / semantic similarity to evaluate how good a search result is. This enables us to actually reason how well search results match the intent of the search query, eliminating the problems that come from evaluating search results on how much they look like the search query.

Describe what your company does in 50 characters or less.

A search technology that actually finds what you're looking for.

What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We built Artemis Search, a vector database search that uses special-purpose deep-learning models to evaluate search results based on how well they match the intent behind the query, not just textual or semantic similarity. This helps eliminate poor matches that traditional search engines return when they rely on surface-level resemblance to the query.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We're spread across San Francisco, CA; Rochester, MN; and remote. After YC, the company would remain distributed but likely maintain presence in San Francisco for access to customers and talent.

Explain your decision regarding location.

We chose these locations based on where we live and work - Austin, Manvir, and Kyle are each in different places - but stay connected remotely. San Francisco roots us near tech hubs and enterprise customers; Rochester and remote work allow us to operate efficiently.
