We built Rivet as an open-source, self-hostable system for building and scaling AI agents, functions, and stateful services. It replaces proprietary Durable Objects with a flexible solution developers can run anywhere, giving full control over infrastructure for complex backend state management.

We live in San Francisco, CA, and the company will be based here after YC.

San Francisco is where we live and where most of our network and potential users are. We want to stay here to build close ties with other infrastructure and AI startups.
