What Permitify does

City building departments are understaffed and overworked. Meanwhile, builders lobby to remove power from building departments. Because building departments are usually the only profitable/self-sustaining branch of a local government, this is problematic. Permitify allows city build-plan reviewers to 10x their productivity covering the labor shortage, reducing the time required to issue a building permit, and allowing the city government's only profitable branch to stay intact.

We are building an AI-powered assistant for city building plan reviewers. Our product uses computer vision and generative AI to help reviewers check building plans against code faster, addressing staffing shortages in building departments and cutting down the turnaround time for permits.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We don't have a fixed physical location; the team is distributed. After YC, we'll continue remote or base ourselves where it makes sense for scaling and recruiting.

Given the early stage and specialized nature of our work, staying flexible and remote allows us to focus on building software without location constraints. We'll decide post-YC based on growth needs.
