What OpenPipe does

OpenPipe is an SDK that abstracts away fine-tuning custom models. We capture your existing provider’s prompt-completion pairs in the background and use them to create a new model that is faster, cheaper and often more accurate than the original.

Turn expensive prompts into cheap fine-tuned models

What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We built an SDK called OpenPipe that captures prompt-completion pairs from your existing AI provider in the background. Then it uses those pairs to fine-tune a custom model that runs cheaper, faster, and often more accurately than the original. It abstracts away the complexity of fine-tuning so engineering teams can easily deploy custom models without investing heavily in ML expertise.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live in Seattle, WA, and the company is based here now. After YC, we'll remain based here.

Explain your decision regarding location.

Seattle is where we both live and can focus fully on building. We aren't relocating after YC since our work is remote-friendly, and the city offers the right balance of talent, cost, and life quality for us.
