What Kilobaser does

We combined microfluidic chip technology and a reagent cartridge to create the first personal DNA synthesizer. Until now most life scientists had to rely on out-sourced DNA synthesis, causing stagnating research. Kilobaser empowers every life scientist to synthesize DNA on their benchtop.

We built a desktop device that synthesizes DNA directly on the benchtop using microfluidic chip technology combined with a reagent cartridge. It lets life scientists produce DNA themselves instead of relying on slow, outsourced synthesis.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live and work in Graz, Styria, Austria, and the company will remain based there after YC.

Explain your decision regarding location.

Graz is where we built our product and established our team, so it makes sense to keep the company here to stay close to our hardware labs and existing setup.
