We're building Freebuff, a free coding agent you install via npm. It helps developers write code by running on the best open source AI models, completely free to use. We fund it with ads instead of subscriptions or usage fees. We're also working on a free alternative to Lovable, aiming to bring zero-cost AI tools to engineers and product teams.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live in San Francisco, CA, and plan to keep the company here after YC.

Explain your decision regarding location.

San Francisco has the talent pool and community we need to grow an AI dev tools startup. It's where we're rooted already and where most of the early users and partners are.
