We build Flower, an open-source framework that lets organizations train AI models on data that never leaves its original location. Instead of centralizing sensitive or siloed data, Flower uses federated learning to coordinate training across multiple devices or institutions securely. This lets companies improve AI without compromising privacy or data control.
We are a remote team distributed globally. After YC, we will continue to operate remotely, as that fits our distributed culture and the nature of our product.
We chose a fully remote setup because federated learning inherently deals with distributed systems and data across locations. It also lets us recruit top talent from around the world and work closely with diverse partners without geographic constraints.
