Kitekraft systems consist of a tethered electric aircraft, a.k.a. a kite. The kite has 8 onboard (flying) wind turbines. It autonomously flies in figure eights and generates electrical energy from the wind. Our systems need 10x less construction materials compared to a conventional wind turbine and our systems cost half as much.

Building flying wind turbines
We build a tethered electric aircraft with eight onboard wind turbines. It autonomously flies figure eights to generate electricity from wind. Our system uses 10x less construction material and costs half as much as conventional wind turbines.
We live in Munich, Germany, and plan for the company to remain based here after YC.
We're based in Munich because it's where our founding team lives and where we have access to skilled engineers familiar with hardware and renewable energy, which suits our product development needs.
