We built Wakie to let people make real connections through spontaneous phone calls on topics they care about. Users call strangers to talk about everything from practicing languages to mental health support. It's a social app focused entirely on voice conversations, not text or social feeds.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live in Menlo Park, CA, and the company is based here with some remote team members.

Menlo Park puts us at the heart of the tech community with access to talent and investors. Remote work lets us stretch our hiring beyond the Bay Area, which keeps the team diverse and flexible.
