At the core of the company there is Lunatic, a runtime for developing low latency, robust and distributed networking applications. It can be used for web applications, game servers, video and voice chat, or other apps requiring low latency runtimes. Lunatic borrows many proven ideas from Go and Erlang, but also uses WebAssembly to make it easier targetable from existing languages, allowing teams to leverage already existing code and libraries.

We are building Lunatic, a runtime designed for low latency, robust, distributed networking applications. It combines ideas from Go and Erlang but runs code as WebAssembly modules, making it easier to write safe concurrent apps that handle real-time workloads like game servers, video and voice chat. It targets engineers wanting more reliability and lower latency than traditional runtimes.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live in Vienna, Austria and plan to keep the company based here after YC.

Explain your decision regarding location.

We founded the company here and build the product remotely from Vienna. There's a strong developer community here and the location suits our work style and network.
