We are building MessageParty, a local chat platform that connects people nearby through group messaging tied to physical locations. It lets users join chat groups defined by geography, enabling real-time conversations with neighbors or local communities. The product brings social messaging back to the local level, where people can talk about what matters close to home instead of scattered across broad networks.
We live in New York, NY, and the company will be based here during and after YC.
We chose New York because it's a dense, diverse city with strong local communities. This makes it an ideal place to build and test local chat experiences among people who naturally live and interact nearby.
