What Yemaachi Biotechnology does

Yemaachi Biotech is diversifying and expanding access to precision cancer diagnostics and therapeutics by collecting and sequencing samples from all across Africa, which is the most genetically diverse population on the planet. We then use this data to either optimize existing diagnostic tests, or help other companies discover new ones. We collect and sequence cancer samples from across Africa's genetically diverse populations to create a molecular knowledgebase. This data helps improve existing cancer diagnostic tests and aids other companies in discovering new diagnostics tailored to African genetic diversity.

We live and operate in Accra, Greater Accra Region, Ghana, and plan to keep the company based there after YC.

Explain your decision regarding location.

Africa has the most genetically diverse population on the planet, which is central to our mission. Being based in Accra allows us direct access to samples and clinical data that no one else can match.
