What Sunu does

Sunu Nek is an AR neck-worn interface using radar, audio, and haptics to assist the mobility and daily living of visually impaired users. Haptics informs the users of obstacles around them in real-time through vibrations while audio helps orient the user via GPS voice features. Starting with the blind, the Sunu Nek is the next non-obtrusive human computing interface that will be used by all. The future will be more like "Her" than "Ready player one".

Describe what your company does in 50 characters or less.

Audio and haptics AR for blind users

What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We make Sunu Nek, an augmented reality neck-worn device that uses radar to detect nearby obstacles. It communicates those obstacles to visually impaired users through vibrations on their skin while providing GPS-based audio directions. Our goal is to improve mobility and daily living for blind users with a discreet, wearable interface.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live and work mainly in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico with some team members remote. After YC we would keep the base in Mexico but remain flexible to work remotely.

Explain your decision regarding location.

Mexico is where we built the product and connected with users. The team is mostly local, and costs are lower here. We want to maintain that while still connecting globally through remote work.
