What stagewise does

stagewise is building the open-source agentic IDE: a developer workspace for creating and orchestrating coding agents, previewing running apps, and managing Git workflows. We are building an open-source agentic IDE that lets developers create and orchestrate coding agents inside a single workspace. You can run agents in parallel, connect them to your browser or runtime context, and manage everything from your codebase to Git workflows, APIs, tests, docs, and deployment. It's designed for developers who want to blend AI coding assistants directly into their environment without locking them into one model or platform.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We both live in San Francisco, CA, and the company will be based here after YC as well.

Explain your decision regarding location.

San Francisco is where we're based because it's the best place to meet other founders, potential users in developer and AI communities, and investors focused on emerging developer tools.
