What Ionworks does

Every battery company spends tens of millions of dollars a year on experiments. Simulations that replace experiments reduce these costs but are currently underutilized in industry because they are hard to create and run. We make simulations accessible to every engineer, by helping them to create models from their own data, then run large scale simulations in the cloud to explore the full design space.

What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We build simulation software that battery and automotive engineers can use to create and run detailed models of battery systems directly from their own data. Our platform runs these simulations at scale in the cloud, letting engineers explore design options without relying solely on costly experiments.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live and work remotely. After YC, we'll continue remote work but remain open to relocating if it benefits the company.

Explain your decision regarding location.

Being remote lets us tap into talent wherever it is and stay flexible. It also aligns well with building cloud-based software that serves global users.
