What Dropback does

Dropback is building front office software for the future of college sports. We help major athletic departments manage their teams' "salary caps" and roster limits to construct their most competitive rosters. Just two years ago, it became legal for athletes to earn an income beyond their scholarships. Since then, despite college athletes earning $2B+, rapid regulation change has put college sports in disarray. Dropback brings order to this chaos through custom compensation frameworks, roster management, what-if playgrounds, and more--ultimately helping elite programs optimize spend & maximize talent.

Front office software for college sports

What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We're building front office software that helps college athletic departments manage the complexities that arose when athletes became able to earn money beyond scholarships. Our product handles custom compensation frameworks, enforces roster limits, and lets teams run what-if scenarios - all to help them build the strongest, most competitive rosters within new rules and budgets.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We both live remote and plan to keep the company remote after YC.

Explain your decision regarding location.

College sports decision-makers and compliance officers are scattered across the country, so staying remote lets us stay close to customers without relocating the company.
