What Blaze does

Blaze (YC S24) is global Venmo for cross border payments. It's a peer to peer payments app that uses USDC to make payments fast and cheap between any two people anywhere in the world. The founders scaled their last startup to $1M in ARR, studied mathematics and engineering at Duke, NYU, and Cornell, and have led teams at Spotify, Artsy, and Bitpanda. What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We built a peer-to-peer payments app that uses USDC to send money fast and cheaply between any two people worldwide. Our focus is on making cross-border payments as easy and affordable as Venmo is domestically. Users can download it on iOS and Android and send money between the US and Mexico today.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live primarily in Mexico City, with some remote team members, and plan to base the company there after YC while continuing remote work.

Explain your decision regarding location.

Mexico City is home for us, strategically positioned for fast cross-border payments between the US and Latin America, where existing solutions are expensive or slow. We can build and operate globally from here, and it keeps our costs manageable.
