What AON3D does

AON3D is a rapidly growing startup on a mission to put industrial 3D printing capabilities into the hands of those who need it most. Our technology has made it 10 times cheaper than before to 3D print with advanced thermoplastics, and we continue to push the boundaries on commercializing new materials for 3D printing. Our customers span the globe and are pioneers in the application of 3D printing in their field - from automotive tooling to aircraft interiors, foundry molds to public art installations, prosthetics to guides for radiation and surgical oncology. AON3D is a graduate of Y-Combinator and venture-backed by top investors from Silicon Valley.

Describe what your company does in 50 characters or less.

Additive Manufacturing with advanced materials

What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We build industrial 3D printers that can print with high-performance thermoplastics at a fraction of the usual cost. Our machines enable customers to produce tooling, aerospace parts, prosthetics, and more with materials that need precise temperature control and robust hardware. This lets people replace expensive manufacturing with flexible, on-demand additive production for applications previously impossible or prohibitively expensive.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live in Montreal, Canada, and would keep the company based here after YC.

Explain your decision regarding location.

Montreal has strong access to engineering talent, lower costs than the US, and a growing hardware startup community. It's also where our founding team is located and where we have built relationships with early customers, so it makes sense to stay here.
