Founded in 2000, ViewPoint Capital Partners was the first private equity firm in Europe specializing exclusively on mature software technology companies in the growth capital segment. ViewPoint raised two funds, namely ViewPoint Ventures I in 2000/01 and ViewPoint Growth II in 2007/08 with total assets under management of €160m.
ViewPoint Ventures I invested into IMPRESS (today Trinovis), Interactive Objects, RedDot (acquired by Hummingbird in 2005, today Opentext), FERNBACH (sold back to founder in 2015), mental images (acquired by Nvidia in 2007), ASDIS (today Auconet), arcplan (acquired by LongView Solutions in 2015) and Aquin (acquired by State Street/PFS in 2008).
ViewPoint Growth II invested into Crytek, acrolinx (acquired by Genui in 2017), Textbroker, BrandMaker (sold to Pinova in 2014), HYPE, QuantHouse (acquired by S&P CapitalIQ in 2012), adnologies (today TradeDoubler), Dovetail Systems (acquired by Fiserv in 2017) and Tricentis (acquired by Insight Venture Partners in 2016).
In 2015, the firm stopped making new investments and ceased operations in 2016.
