He has been involved in the power and water sector mainly in developing and financing Independent Power Producers projects. This has included developing, financing, building, and operating the first private power plant in Israel, and the first private water desalination plant in Israel. Asi is a seasoned manager with over 25 years of experience in the public and private energy sector. Asi is the Former Director-General of the Israeli Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and currently serves as an executive and director in energy-related companies. Before OSEG, he managed several energy-related projects including Israel's first private power plant as well as large-scale power projects in the UAE. He served in the Israeli Defense Forces and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Mr. Shalgi received an Engineering degree in Industry and Management from Tel Aviv University.
