Before founding Waypoint, Varun worked on AI at Microsoft and Ryan worked on chip design at Apple. US cities are facing three major crises: congestion, budget deficits, and climate change. At the same time, city governments are understaffed and frequently need to contract work out to expensive consultants. Leveraging recent advancements in AI, we empower cities to reduce their costs, build infrastructure, and respond to problems quickly. What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We are building an AI city planner that automatically generates civil infrastructure studies. Our product helps cities produce transportation and urban planning reports months faster and at a fraction of the usual cost.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We currently live in different locations, but after YC we plan to base the company where we can best engage with city governments and investors, possibly Silicon Valley or another major metro area.

Explain your decision regarding location.

There is no set location yet. We want to be close to tech hubs and public sector customers. Being near city governments and investors will help us move faster.
