Insight is a Palo Alto based education startup, funded by Y Combinator and SV Angel, with 1000 alumni at hundreds of companies including Facebook, Netflix, LinkedIn, Twitter, The New York Times, Apple, Airbnb, Microsoft, Capital One, NBC, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and many others.

What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We run a seven-week fellowship that helps PhDs and engineers transition into data science and data engineering roles. The program teaches practical skills and connects fellows to hiring companies across multiple cities and remotely.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live in Palo Alto, CA, and plan to keep the company based here after YC.

Explain your decision regarding location.

Palo Alto puts us close to the tech companies who hire our fellows and the data science community, which makes recruiting fellows and partners easier.
