Targeted subscription media is a valuable bet: Black Entertainment Television (BET) sold to Viacom for $2.3b in 2000 and Liberty Media valued Univision at $14b in 2017. The U.S. South Asia diaspora alone has over $1 trillion of spending power and is the fastest growing demographic in the U.S., yet is underserved. We're backed by some incredible investors, including Precursor Ventures (also in The Athletic, Superhuman), Kevin Lin (co-founder, Twitch), Adam Hansmann (co-founder, The Athletic), and Balaji Srinivasan (ex-Coinbase CTO, ex-GP a16z).

What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We built a subscription-based consumer media platform and community focused on South Asian culture and stories. Our product delivers content and community features that connect the South Asia diaspora and those interested in the culture, filling a gap in mainstream media coverage and community engagement.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live in New York, NY, and plan to continue basing the company here after YC.

Explain your decision regarding location.

We are based in New York because it's a major media and cultural hub with a large South Asian diaspora, which makes it an ideal place to build and grow our product and network.
