Founded in 2022, Atmeto was started as a place to develop and apply machine learning to solve the world's biggest problem - climate change. Our current priority is getting the grid to run on 100% clean energy, which is currently limited by battery storage (specifically, the algorithms that control them). We're redefining these algorithms to unlock gigawatts of untapped energy storage capacity, enabling the grid to run on more clean energy from wind and solar.

What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We build machine learning algorithms that control batteries on the electrical grid. Our software improves how these batteries store and release energy to maximize the use of wind and solar. This lets grid operators tap into unused storage capacity and run the grid on cleaner, renewable energy.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live in Los Angeles, and after YC the company will continue to be based here.

Los Angeles is where our team is located and has strong ties. It offers access to energy industry partners and a local climate-tech ecosystem, which suits our focus on grid storage.
