Too often it’s because they are employed by a company that doesn’t offer a retirement plan. Human Interest is changing that by making it affordable and accessible for small and medium-sized businesses to offer employees a path to financial independence through retirement savings. We’re a high-growth tech company changing the retirement industry. We’ve raised $500M and are backed by leading investors. Most recently, by funding from BlackRock as well as many other top investors: TPG (The Rise Fund) with SoftBank led our Series D, Glynn Capital, NewView Capital, USVP, Wing, Uncork, and others.

We built a platform that makes it easy and affordable for small and medium-sized businesses to offer retirement savings plans to their employees. Our product manages all the compliance, administration, and investing, so employers and employees can focus on actually saving for retirement, not paperwork.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live in San Francisco, CA and have a remote team. The company would remain based in San Francisco after YC.

Explain your decision regarding location.

San Francisco has the talent pool and investor network critical for scaling a fintech company focused on retirement benefits. Remote work helps us tap broader engineering talent while staying rooted here.
