YourMechanic was founded in 2012 and is the first nationwide provider of mobile mechanics to car owners. Headquartered in Mountain View, California, YourMechanic is funded by SoftBank Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, Ashton Kutcher, Data Point Capital, and others. We are on a mission to build the most convenient and trusted car repair service. Total trust comes from total transparency. YourMechanic is transforming the auto repair industry by delivering car care to car owners at their home or office in the top 50 largest U.S. metropolitan areas. Mobile mechanics provide over 600 repair, maintenance, and diagnostic services at a fair and transparent price. We built an online platform connecting car owners with mobile mechanics who come to their home or office to perform over 600 types of repair, maintenance, and diagnostics services. The product simplifies booking, offers transparent pricing, and enables mechanics to set their own schedules and service focus.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live in Mountain View, CA, and after YC the company would remain based there.

Explain your decision regarding location.

Mountain View is home to a lot of tech talent and is where we started building the product. It's also close to many customers and mechanics in major metropolitan areas for our service.
