What Odys Aviation does

Odys Aviation (formerly Craft Aero) builds vertical take-off and landing aircraft for major airlines. We cut travel time in half on the world’s busiest routes by using city helipads and local airports. The company founders are electric propulsion and automotive manufacturing experts who have spent their careers electrifying transportation systems at Virgin Hyperloop, GoogleX, Volvo, and Fisker Automotive. What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We build electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft designed to cut travel time on busy routes by half. Our planes use city helipads and local airports to avoid traditional hub delays, targeting major airlines as customers. The product integrates electric propulsion and advanced manufacturing techniques to deliver scalable, quiet urban air mobility solutions.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live in Los Angeles, CA where the company is based, and we plan to stay here during and after YC.

Explain your decision regarding location.

Los Angeles offers access to aviation talent, local airports for testing, and proximity to early airline customers and USAF programs. It is the best place for us to build and scale urban air mobility aircraft.
