What Kopa does

Kopa is the marketplace for monthly rentals and compatible housemates. We believe that exploration and community make people whole. Kopa exists to inspire people to get out of their comfort zones, to form lasting relationships, and to live more fulfilled lives. Kopa enables people to browse rentals, find roommates, and book and pay for spaces all online.

What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We built Kopa as an online marketplace where people can browse furnished rentals available for 1-12 month stays, find housemates who match their compatibility preferences, and book and pay all through our platform. It focuses on community and longer stays, not short-term vacation rentals or year-long leases.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live in San Francisco and have a distributed team with some remote. After YC we would keep the company based in San Francisco.

Explain your decision regarding location.

We chose San Francisco because that is where we live and where most of our early users and network are. The city's transient population gives us a real need and market for flexible, monthly housing with compatible housemates.
