What Ananya Health does

Building a standard-of-care medical device to freeze abnormal cells before they become cervical cancer, in any clinic, anywhere in the world, at 1/10 the cost. -- Ananya Health is building a portable cryoablation unit designed for every primary care clinic in the world. Our beachhead application is cervical cancer prevention -- even though cervical cancer is easy to screen for, 80% of clinics worldwide lack the infrastructure and specialized staff to treat at the earliest stages. Our platform technology allows nurses and lower level health workers to treat at the point of care for 1/10 the cost of traditional ablation, and is the only cryo device that will help us achieve the WHO target to eliminate cervical cancer in our lifetime.

What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.

We are building a portable cryoablation device that allows clinics worldwide to freeze abnormal cervical cells on-site before they become cancer. Our device is low-cost, easy to use by nurses and lower-level healthcare workers, and requires no specialized infrastructure or staff. It cuts treatment costs to a tenth of what traditional devices require, aiming to help clinics meet the WHO goal to eliminate cervical cancer globally.

Where do you live now, and where would the company be based after YC?

We live in San Francisco, CA, and intend to keep the company based here after YC.

Explain your decision regarding location.

San Francisco is where our technical and clinical networks are strongest. Being here lets us recruit hardware talent and stay close to partners in health innovation.
